LA FABBRICA DELL'ARIA - UNICOOP NOVOLI

The Fabbrica dell’Aria is an innovative botanical filtration system that uses plants to purify the air. Since plants capture polluting molecules and incorporate them into their biomass, the filter has an indefinite duration and is therefore much more efficient than mechanical filtration. The Fabbrica dell’Aria is a glass structure equipped with Stomata technology system, through which the air to be purified flows. Stomata system makes sure that pollutants are absorbed by plants roots and leaves. The structure is provided with sensor so that we could measure the quality of incoming and outgoing air. Real time data about Fabbrica’s effectiveness can be read on screens.

With Coop and Inres, Pnat developped a Fabbrica dell’Aria custom-made for a commercial space. In traditional systems, energy consumed in air conditioning is dispersed. This botanical system depurates indoor air, creating an indoor air circulation that permits to decrease energetical costs. Mechanical ventilation systems require ordinary maintenance that weigh on annual spending. By having a botanical filter, the Fabbrica dell’Aria makes maintenance easier and cheaper.
