Nature Based Solutions (NBS) are solutions that use natural elements and processes to increase the sustainability and resilience of urban areas. Restoring natural systems in cities and integrating them to traditional infrastructures is an innovative and effective way to address socio-environmental challenges such as: climate change, water pollution, food security, biodiversity loss, the management of natural disasters and the protection of human health. Simplifying the application of these solutions to make them easier to implement is the goal of this manual. The aim is to promote this type of small and large-scale intervention between administrations and citizens.
