Lemon House garden
PNAT’s installation embraces the concept of using greenery through an innovative and visionary approach at the Lemon House garden of Villa Strozzi, surrounded by a lush environment where nature is already an integral part of the setting. The concept features plants suspended inside transparent spheres, revealing what is often invisible to the human eye. Various soils, insects, molds, and organisms will coexist in symbiosis with the plants, creating a complex and unique ecosystem.
The installation is built using lightweight larch wood structures that are easy to assemble and disassemble. The clean, minimal design of these structures makes them adaptable for various uses. The entrance portal, the stage, and the administration area are designed to house the suspended plants within them and in the crate crops.
Rubber pipes will connect the suspended plants to those on the ground for water circulation, ensuring that excess water from high-altitude irrigation is directed into the ground boxes and reused efficiently. Most of the plants are edible, allowing them to be used in food and drink preparations in the administration area.
The lighting design will feature two types of lighting: one will create a welcoming and unique atmosphere for visitors, while the other, using pink tones typical of greenhouse lighting, will enhance the symbiosis between nature and technology in the exhibition.
