In the landscape of the Tuscan-Romagnol Apennines, where the hills converse with the wind and nature still moves at an authentic pace, Oasi Gregorina comes to life. Within the Tenuta Gregorina, Generali and Gruppo Leone Alato, the Company’s agri-food and wine-making holding, wanted a place capable of uniting environmental protection, beauty, and human connection: a 25-hectare oasis dedicated to the protection of biodiversity, environmental education, and direct immersion in nature.

Mosaic of biodiversity

The Oasis is a mosaic of habitats that follow one another and complement each other: the Pollinator Meadow, the Woodland, and the Organic Vineyard.
At the heart of the project lies the Social Woodland, a welcoming and accessible environment for everyone, designed as a place for meeting and sharing, where native vegetation reclaims its space, offering shade, coolness, and shelter to local wildlife.

Continuing along the path, visitors encounter the Food Forest: an area inspired by natural woodlands where trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants coexist harmoniously, creating a small productive and resilient ecosystem rich in fruit, scents, and biodiversity.

Outside the visitor route lies the Wetland Area, a natural basin that becomes a resting place for birds, insects, and small amphibians—a precious habitat in constant evolution, where water shapes new balances and allows life to regenerate.

Micro-architectures

Within these landscapes, there are a series of micro-architectures designed to accompany visitors without interrupting the dialogue with the environment.

In the Welcome area stands the Belvedere, a small panoramic threshold overlooking the hills; in the heart of the Social Woodland are the Green Laboratory, a multipurpose space designed for outdoor work and educational activities, and the Amphitheatre, an intimate place for meetings and collective activities immersed in greenery.

The Walkway, on the other hand, rises above the Food Forest, allowing visitors to take in the tree canopies with their gaze without interfering with the delicate ecological balance.

Oasi Gregorina is a project that evolves over time and with the people who experience it. Here, ecosystem conservation intertwines with educational paths, inclusive initiatives, and moments of discovery. It is a space open to everyone, designed to inspire awareness, wonder, and care for today’s nature and that of future generations.

For some of the Oasis’s pathways, an amber-light illumination system has been adopted to ensure safety and inclusivity even during evening hours, while minimizing impact on the surrounding environment. The choice of a warm, non-dispersive light temperature helps reduce light pollution, preventing disturbance to nocturnal wildlife and preserving the quality of the dark sky. A technical solution that supports biodiversity and strengthens the harmony between human enjoyment and ecosystem protection.
